Quote of the week!
Okay so this one is really short but I'll give you a hint by way of this question: what is your favorite Disney quote?
Please feel free to respond to this post either by naming the movie or quoting your favorite Disney quote - or both!
I can't name the actual quote. (I keep wanting to say Jimmy Stewart in something, but I know that's not it.)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Disney quote off the top of my head... "I'm not afraid of danger," says D'Artagnan in Disney's live action THREE MUSKETEERS(1993). He's saying it to the Countess, who is a spy and is about to kill him.
I've always found the scene hilarious because he's so cocky that he doesn't know how close to dead he is.
And because this woman carries daggers around everywhere on her person - in her bodice, under her cape, in her hair. If she looked both ways before crossing the street, she'd carve herself up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
The quote's from Alice in Wonderland, a movie I watched a million times as a kid. :-) My brother and I love the Cheshire cat and still quote his lines back and forth to each other. "You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself."
ReplyDeleteOh yay! Okay have to post some of my favorite quotes from my favorite Disney movie of all time - Mary Poppins
ReplyDeleteBert: Reminds me of me brother. Got a nice cushy job in a watch factory.
Uncle Albert: In a watch factory? What does he do?
Bert: He stands about all day and makes faces.
Uncle Albert: [laughs] He makes faces in a watch factory!
Bert: Speaking of names, I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith.
Uncle Albert: What's the name of his other leg?
Bert: Uncle Albert, I got a jolly joke I save for just such an occasion. Would you like to hear it?
Uncle Albert: I'd be so grateful.
Bert: Well it's about me granddad, see, and one night he had a nightmare. So bad, he chewed his pillow to bits. To bits. The next morning, I says, "How do you feel, Granddad?" He says, "Oh not bad, a little down in the mouth." [laughs] I always say there's nothing like a good joke.
Uncle Albert: And that was nothing like a good joke.
Michael: I want it (my money) to feed the birds.
Mr. Dawes Sr: Fiddlesticks, boy. Feed the birds and what have you got? Fat birds.
And...
George Banks: My dear, never confuse efficiency with a liver complaint.
Oh
ReplyDeletePS - the quote its from Alice In Wonderland. Its from the scene when she's talking to the flowers!
I don't know what movie the quote is from, but here's (one of) my favorite Disney quote: "If I tattle-tale I'll die till I'm dead" from Robin Hood, which is, without a doubt, my favorite animated film EVER! (Small surprise there, right?)
ReplyDeleteThat "I'll die till I am dead." from ROBIN HOOD is great! I also like "Forgive me a cruel chuckle. Heh-heh-heh!" and " Gosh, I'm seven years old! Going on eight!"
ReplyDeleteBut my alltime favourite is SLEEPING BEAUTY and these quotes:
Prince Philip: "Now, father, you're living in the past. This is the 14th century!" -
King Hubert: "Nowadays I'm still the king! And I command you to come to your senses!"
