Who cares if we dance to the beat of a different drum?

I'm sorry I was a little MIA last week. Every time I think I'm finally on top of things, I fall behind. It's a sad, vicious cycle. Ah well.

In the meantime, while I gather myself together for my 100 movies post tomorrow (I'm planning to do it - but then I plan a lot of things!), I wanted to share a new video with you!

I posted this just the other day and, to my excitement, it's really doing well so far! I hope you enjoy it. Let this be my Happy March to you all!

Just brain over brawn, friend.

This month, I'd like to spotlight one of my favorite bloggers, Amanda Cooper from Noodle in A Haystack. She actually has other blogs that I'm crazy about but that one is her main one.

If you haven't checked out Amanda's blog, you really should. She was one of the first film bloggers I ever came across and I really love what she writes. It's especially nice if the people you read happen to like the same sorts of movies you like and she mostly talks about musicals and 60's comedies and she's as smitten with Errol Flynn as I am. What's not to like?

And since I missed posting this on Wednesday, I'm going to blend it together with my photography Friday post. So, here is another one of my favorite photos ever:

I found it via Doctor Macro.

Honey, you're the cutest piggy bank in town

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday so I owe you a fashion post.

First, I want to thank everyone who commented with suggestions for seduction scenes. I plan to use every one of your suggestions!

In my search for seduction scenes, my search has slowly crept into a basic sexy scene search. One of the results is this awesome kiss [0:20] from Kiss Me Kate. How does Tommy Rall do that with his cigarette? I'm intrigued, fascinated, and very attracted. I'm pretty sure this kiss will make its way into my vid.

This, actually has nothing to do with my fashion post. I was going to talk about Ann Miller's dress but I think I actually want to talk about something completely different and it's this super cute style... the whole cut-out in front thing. Now, I could have sworn I watched a movie the other day where there was a bow right above the cut out, but I currently cannot for the life of me remember which movie this was. So, I'll use the one I do remember - this dress from The Lady Eve. I actually really like it when It's a complete dress, not a two-piece, but you get the idea.

Marriage is okay if you wanna be

Today is video day!! I'm actually going to post a couple of videos. One as my spotlight and then another one just for fun. The first video is a clip from The More the Merrier. I saw this movie years ago but found myself returning to it when I read Meredith's blurb about it on her blog. I looked the scene up and instantly fell in love with it. It is, in my opinion, one of the sexiest scenes ever. Plus, it's hilarious. Plus, I love her dress.

Okay, so my other video is a video that I made just in time for Valentine's Day. I used Emma Wallace's song sketch and inserted some of my favorite film kisses. What do you think?

So, now for the interactive portion of our program. First of all, I still have this month's poll up. Don't forget to vote for your favorite Marx brother!

Second of all, I'm currently working on a new video and I'm using some seduction scenes... but I'm running out of ideas! So, I was hoping some of you could give me some suggestions. I'm open to movies both new and old. If the scene is on YouTube, that's even better and it would really help me out if you could include a link. I'm using a lot of the scene above and also a scene from It Should Happen to You. I've got lots of videos I'm using but rather than list them out, I'd like to hear what you think. Any good seduction scenes? Let me know!

"Peanut, care for?"

So quote time!

A big thank you and good job to everyone who guessed last month's quote correctly: Lisa, Wendymoon, Amanda Cooper, SassyGinger, Mel, ALD1296, and Emma! Hooray!!!

This month's quote is:

"Peanut, care for?"

I may be wonderful but I think you're wrong

So now, #35 on my list:

Animal Crackers (1930)

This movie is actually tied with Monkey Business in my list of favorite Marx brothers films (so far) but I watched this one more recently, so I'm reviewing it first.

The basic summary of the film is this: when the heroic Captain Spaulding (Groucho) returns from Africa, Mrs. Rittenhouse (Margaret Dumont) plans a big celebration, including the unveiling of a great painting. When practically everyone in the house schemes to switch the painting with a duplicate, however, chaos ensues. It's up to the Marx brothers to find the culprit... or to not get caught being one!

Unfortunately, I don't have much to offer as far as trivia goes. I don't know much about the marvelous Marx brothers, but I'd like to. (Any suggested reading?)

What I do know is that I love the Marx brothers. It's a love that grows every time I watch one of their movies (okay, almost every time - I wasn't crazy about Love Happy). I love Groucho's one-liners and Chico's puns. And in Animal Crackers I even enjoyed Harpo's bits of zaniness (the leg gag really had me cracking up). I had watched the movie a) because it was on my list of movies to watch and b) because my very good friend told me that the scene where Chico plays the piano is hilarious. Well, I watched that scene where Chico plays the piano... and I was dying. So unbelievably funny!!

My other favorite part was probably this scene with Chico and Groucho (it's where I got the title of my post). But really there were so many good scenes and so many fantastic moments. If you haven't seen it, you definitely should add it to your to-see list.

In the meantime, I'm including a poll. Do weigh in as I'm curious to see the results! I'm leaving this poll up all month.

Oh, and P.S. I'm uploading a new Valentine's day video on my YouTube channel. Check it out!
